BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, Abbas Abbasov, stated at a conference on “New Caledonia: history, modern challenges, and the expected future” held by the Azerbaijani parliament, that the group will continue to support people and countries affected by neocolonialism.
During its seven-month tenure, the Baku Initiative Group has organized seven international conferences, Abbasov mentioned.
“Azerbaijan is in favor of supporting the resistance against neocolonialism. Several important initiatives were put forward while our country led the Non-Aligned Movement, one of which is the fight against neocolonialism. The goal is to bring together political parties and forces to oppose neocolonialism on a unified platform,” Abbasov explained.
Delegates from New Caledonia, including the chairwoman of the Committee on Infrastructure, Territorial Planning, Sustainable Development, Energy, Transportation, and Communication of the Congress of New Caledonia Naisseline Omayra, along with Azerbaijani MPs, are participating in the conference.
