Baha’i Mahvash Sabet recovering from heart surgery will be imprisoned again in Iran

Mahvash Sabet, a 71-year-old Iranian Baha’i prisoner of conscience, has undergone open-heart surgery after over 13 years in prison for her beliefs, with doctors warning that continued detention will lead to a rapid deterioration in her health. Despite facing severe health issues and medical neglect in prison, she is at risk of being returned to Evin Prison to serve the remainder of her 10-year sentence, prompting calls for her immediate release and assurances from Iranian authorities that she will not be re-imprisoned.
