Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is presumed dead following a significant military operation by the U.S. and Israel, according to Israeli and senior U.S. intelligence sources. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated there are “growing signs” of Khamenei’s death, which has sparked celebrations in Tehran, although Iranian state media has yet to confirm this. The operation reportedly resulted in the deaths of seven Iranian officials, including Khamenei’s advisor, Ali Shamkhani. Khamenei, who had led Iran since 1989, leaves uncertainty regarding his succession.
