Axel Rudakubana’s parents sought help from police multiple times due to their son’s violence-obsessed behavior, which officers failed to recognize as a threat during visits to their home. After being sentenced to at least 52 years in prison for a planned mass murder attack, Rudakubana disrupted the court proceedings and received 13 life sentences. The family had asked for police assistance in managing their son’s escalating behavior just two months prior to the attack, following an incident where he was found with a knife on a bus.
