Axel Rudakubana, an 18-year-old disturbed teenager, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 52 years for the pre-meditated mass stabbing of three innocent girls at a children’s dance class in Southport. Despite admitting to 16 offences, including the murders and attempted murders, Rudakubana showed no remorse and was removed from court for shouting during sentencing. Judge Mr Justice Goose was unable to give him a whole life order due to his age at the time of the attack, ensuring that the remorseless killer is likely to never be released from prison.
