Thai authorities dismantled two high-tech fraud operations in Bangkok targeting Chinese-led gangs in “Operation Bridge Blast,” showcasing cybercriminals’ advanced methods. One gang used SMS blasting with sophisticated mobile equipment, sending nearly 1 million fraudulent messages in just three days. Another gang ran a massive call center scam using VoIP technology, making over 730 million calls with 11,201 registered numbers, resulting in 10 arrests and warrants for 24 suspects, including both foreigners and Thai nationals.
