Oscar Piastri of McLaren topped the timesheets in the final practice session at the Australian Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton finishing in 8th place ahead of his qualifying debut for Ferrari. Piastri was just 0.039s ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell, while Max Verstappen of Red Bull was also within a tenth of a second of the fastest time. Ferrari, expected to challenge McLaren, struggled as Charles Leclerc finished in 4th. Hamilton had a difficult session, nearly half a second off the pace in 8th. Italian youngster Andrea Kimi Antonelli impressed in 5th, while Williams showed strong midfield performance with Carlos Sainz in 6th. Oliver Bearman had a challenging start to his F1 season with Haas, with limited track time due to incidents.
