Australia is investing 1.7 billion AUD ($1.1bn) in extra-large “Ghost Shark” underwater attack drones to enhance its naval capabilities amid rising regional threats. Defence Minister Richard Marles emphasized these drones’ long range and stealth, stating they will bolster Australia’s military alongside upcoming nuclear-powered submarines under the AUKUS program.
