Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister James Marape signed the Pukpuk treaty, enhancing military cooperation between the two nations, with details to be released soon. Marape emphasized that the agreement is based on geographic and historical ties, not geopolitics, while also facilitating the recruitment of 10,000 Papua New Guineans into the Australian Defence Force.
