Typhoon Kalmaegi has caused significant devastation in Vietnam, resulting in at least five fatalities and extensive damage in central provinces, particularly Dak Lak, Quang Ngai, and Gia Lai. The storm led to the destruction of nearly 57 houses, damage to approximately 3,000 more, and left 1.28 million households without power. Over 8,000 people have been evacuated, and more than 268,000 soldiers have been deployed for search-and-rescue operations. Kalmaegi has since weakened to a tropical storm and is moving toward Cambodia and Laos.
