Some 20 asylum seekers with tents, who had arrived in Ireland on Thursday morning, were cleared from the Grand Canal in Dublin within minutes of setting up camp on Thursday night. The group was asked to leave by gardaí who arrived at the site shortly before 10pm following reports of trespassing from Waterways Ireland security staff. The men had set up their tents around 9.30pm near the International Protection Office but were quickly removed by authorities.
