The odds of a 'city-killer' asteroid hitting Earth have fallen to zero

Astronomers tracked asteroid 2024 YR4, initially with a 1% chance of hitting Earth in 2032, but recent observations have ruled out a strike, reducing the probability to below a few hundred thousand. The asteroid was found in December and was closely monitored by the International Asteroid Warning Network.
