The new Tory MP for South Northamptonshire, Sarah Bool, expressed concerns that the proposed assisted dying legislation is too vague and could potentially include her type 1 diabetes as a valid reason to end someone’s life. She laid an amendment to the bill to call for a list of conditions that should or should not be included, as currently there are no specific illnesses listed in the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill. Ms. Bool, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes three years ago, fears that the bill’s criteria of having six months or less to live could inadvertently encompass her condition.
