Artists urge EU to strengthen AI copyright protection

The European Cultural and Creative Industries have sent an open letter to the EU Commission regarding the implementation of the AI Act, expressing concerns about generative AI companies using their content without permission. Rights holders are demanding that AI model providers make detailed summaries of the content used for training their models and demonstrate compliance with EU copyright laws. Over 200 artists, including Stevie Wonder and Billie Eilish, have joined the Artist Rights Alliance in calling on AI tech firms to prevent infringing upon the rights of human artists.
