Two Iranian ships, the Shabdis and the Barzin, have left a Chinese chemical storage port and are en route to Iran. Both vessels are owned by the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines, which is sanctioned by the US, UK, and EU. Experts suggest that the ships may be carrying sodium perchlorate, a substance linked to missile production, raising concerns given the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and China’s calls for restraint in military actions.
