Syria has reopened a newly reactivated air corridor from Aleppo to the Mediterranean, allowing foreign airlines to operate alongside the national carrier. The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the route is open to any airline meeting international safety standards. The first flight from Aleppo to Istanbul took off on Thursday, with future flights to Jeddah and possibly Riyadh planned. Royal Jordanian is also expected to utilize the corridor for flights from Amman.
