US strengthens ties with Middle Eastern nations during Iran conflict

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held discussions with the foreign ministers of Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey in response to recent Iranian attacks in the Middle East. Rubio and Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos addressed threats following an Iranian drone strike on a British military base in Cyprus. He also thanked Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan for their response to an assault on the US Embassy in Riyadh. In talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Rubio reiterated US support and condemned attacks on Turkey’s territory.
