IDF Targets Palestinian Islamic Jihad at Lebanon-Syria Border

Recently, the military has intensified its strikes against Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon but has reduced operations in Syria, influenced by U.S. pressure for a new security agreement with Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa. Israel and Sharaa have effectively curtailed cross-border weapons smuggling since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024. This context renders the recent military action notable, as the IDF tracked and targeted two terrorists posing a threat to Israelis. The military has committed to continue disrupting cross-border smuggling efforts.
