Republican Rep. Earl Carter of Georgia has called for Emory University and the Georgia Composite Medical Board to dismiss Dr. Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani from her faculty role and revoke her medical license. Dr. Ardeshir-Larijani, the daughter of Ali Larijani, a prominent Iranian official critical of the U.S. and Israel, is currently an assistant professor in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Carter expressed concerns over national security, stating that her treatment of American patients poses a risk. He emphasized that medical institutions should not harbor individuals tied to regimes that threaten American lives.
