Pentagon says some 62 US soldiers injured at Gaza aid pier

A Pentagon Inspector General report revealed that over 60 service members were injured during former President Joe Biden’s floating aid pier operation in Gaza, significantly more than previously reported. The pier, announced in March 2024, aimed to deliver aid but faced operational challenges, being effective for only 20 days and costing $230 million. Although no deaths occurred, the report indicated that the military did not meet necessary standards for equipment and training, leading to criticism in Congress regarding the initiative’s political motivations.
