Israel and Turkey Begin Talks to Reduce Tensions
Israel and Turkey have commenced discussions to mitigate tensions and establish a mechanism to prevent conflicts in Syria, with an Israeli delegation meeting Turkish officials in Baku. Israel emphasized that any changes in foreign forces’ deployment in Syria, particularly Turkish bases in Palmyra, would be a serious breach. While Israel is open to Turkish influence in Syria, it insists on maintaining its operational freedom in the region, with Azerbaijan expressing support for improved Israel-Turkey relations.
