Several members of the Mothers Against Genocide group were arrested after blocking the entrance to Leinster House in Dublin following an overnight encampment to demand action on the situation in the Palestinian Occupied Territories. The group had staged a vigil on Mother’s Day in remembrance of those killed in Gaza and were due to deliver a letter calling for the enactment of the Occupied Territories Bill. Despite tense exchanges, the protesters were forcibly removed by gardaí and arrested for offenses under the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, with some still detained in Garda stations in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
