Around 500 killed in Afghanistan earthquake, state-run broadcaster says

Approximately 500 people have died and 1,000 more have been injured due to an earthquake that hit eastern Afghanistan on Monday, according to state broadcaster RTA. Taliban-led health authorities in Kabul are still verifying the official death toll as they attempt to reach remote areas affected by the disaster.
