The death of 13-year-old Melony Granados, who had epilepsy and cognitive impairments, has been ruled a homicide after she was found unresponsive in her grandmother Virginia Lujan’s Arizona home, which was described as filthy and contained a makeshift cage. Lujan, charged with child abuse before her recent death in custody, reportedly claimed Granados fell down the stairs, but investigators discovered extensive bruising and unsanitary living conditions.
