An Argentine tourist was shot in the head and chest in Rio de Janeiro after driving into a low-income community while using a GPS to reach the Christ the Redeemer statue. Gastón Fernando Burlon, former tourism secretary of Bariloche, is in serious condition at Hospital Souza Aguiar. The Argentine government is providing assistance to Burlon and his family as authorities investigate the incident.
