Archaeologists have recovered a 2,600-year-old shipwreck, The Mazarrón II, off the coast of Spain, buried in sand since sinking around 600 B.C.E. In 2024, researchers successfully extracted the vessel, revealing new materials like ropes and ceramics. Led by Carlos de Juan, a team of specialists transported the Phoenician ship to dry land for study and preservation, hoping to shed new light on the ancient civilization.
