In Acts of the Apostles chapter 10, centurion Cornelius, a pious Gentile, receives a vision from an angel instructing him to send for Peter in Joppa, who will share words of salvation for him and his household. Cornelius obeys and sends his servants to bring Peter to him. The next day, as commanded, Peter journeys to Cornelius, preaches in his house, and witnesses the Holy Spirit descending on the listeners, leading to their baptism.
