The Toronto Maple Leafs’ victory over the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of their second-round series was overshadowed by the condition of goaltender Anthony Stolarz, who collided with Panthers forward Sam Bennett and later left the game with a possible concussion. Stolarz was seen vomiting at the bench, a symptom of concussion, and was subsequently taken to the hospital on a stretcher after being replaced by Joseph Woll. Head coach Craig Berube criticized the lack of a penalty on Bennett, asserting that it was a clear infraction, while the NHL’s concussion protocol was invoked following the incident.
