Here's how many Americans came to Canada this April compared to last year

Most Americans who traveled to Canada in April did so for Good Friday, although overall travel by air and vehicle declined compared to last year, with 289,300 U.S. residents arriving by air (down 5.5%) and 820,700 by vehicle (down 10.7%). Canadian returns from the U.S. also fell significantly, with 582,700 flying back (down 19.9%) and 1.2 million driving (down 35.2%), amid ongoing tensions between the countries. This marks the third consecutive month of declines in cross-border travel since 2019, reflecting shifting travel patterns influenced by current relations.
