Army Reservist Released Before Traveling to Israel

Zachariah Adam Quraishi, a 21-year-old Canadian Army reservist from Airdrie, Alberta, was released from service on July 10, 2024, and traveled to Israel shortly thereafter. On July 22, he allegedly attempted a terrorist attack in Netiv Ha’asara, armed with a knife, and was shot dead by Israeli guards after failing to comply with warnings. His father claimed Quraishi aimed to save lives and criticized the Israeli response, alleging wrongful targeting.
