All neighbourhood police centres to have automated equipping and armoury systems by end-2027

SINGAPORE: By the end of 2027, every neighbourhood police centre (NPC) in Singapore will be equipped with smart locker systems to expedite the retrieval and return of firearms and equipment. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plans to implement Automated Equipping Systems (AES) by June 2026 and Automated Armoury Systems (AAS) by December 2027, enhancing operational efficiency by allowing officers to self-serve without queuing for maintenance staff. As of May 2025, 30 NPCs have adopted AES, with AAS operational in four NPCs, streamlining equipment management and saving time.
