Algerians to vote as incumbent Tebboune poised for easy victory
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Around 24 million Algerians are set to vote on Saturday, with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune seeking a second term without facing significant opposition. Tebboune’s main challenge is to increase voter turnout compared to the record abstention rate in 2019, when he won with 58 percent of the vote but over 60 percent of voters stayed home. The President is focused on achieving a substantial turnout in the upcoming election.
