Albany’s bicentenary celebrations kicked off with the debut of Lighting the Sound, a stunning light installation by Finnish artist Kari Kola. Despite heavy rain, thousands gathered to witness the display, which features 800 LED lights across 15 towers in Torndirrup National Park. The event included an Indigenous dance performance and a historical narration, with dignitaries such as WA Premier Roger Cook in attendance. The installation will be showcased over three nights as part of the commemorations.
