An Alaska Airlines flight had to return to Wichita after a passenger’s power bank overheated and caught fire. The flight crew extinguished the flames and placed the device in a thermal containment bag prior to landing. The passenger received medical attention upon arrival at the gate, with no updates on her condition. The FAA is investigating the incident, as it requires reports on dangerous goods, including lithium batteries, which have been involved in numerous aviation incidents.
