AGL has received final approval for a $2bn wind farm in NSW’s Riverina region, featuring 247 turbines and a 500MW battery system, expected to power 590,000 homes while reducing emissions by nearly three million tonnes annually. The project, supported by local councils but facing public opposition, aims to create up to 950 jobs and is part of AGL’s transition to renewable energy by 2050.
