Aggressive deer fatally injures dog in family’s yard in Oak Bay, B.C.

Oak Bay police report that a large buck speared a 15-year-old husky-shepherd mix in the chest with its antlers as the dog approached while walking along the property’s edge. The dog, who was deaf, was euthanized after being tossed by the deer. Sgt. Kevin Diachina emphasizes the importance of keeping pets at a distance from aggressive deer, especially during rutting season, and authorities have been notified of the incident.
