After fatal crash, 7-year-old stayed by his mother’s side, CHP says

A 7-year-old boy survived a fatal crash that killed his mother in Fresno County after spending 12 hours by her side before being found walking alone on a mountain road. The California Highway Patrol responded to a call about an overdue party, leading to the discovery of the boy near the crash site, where the Subaru had overturned down an embankment. The boy, who suffered injuries, was taken to Valley Children’s Hospital and reunited with his father, while investigators work to determine the cause of the crash.
