An Auckland stadium has decided not to host the final event of the controversial new collision sport “run it straight,” due to significant safety concerns raised during the trials held at Trusts Arena.

The trials, organized by the Australian-based Runit Championship League, featured a $200,000 cash prize for the winner. Trusts Arena’s general manager of community engagement, Lynette Adams, noted that while the trials were conducted, no contract was signed for the final event, which ultimately influenced the decision.
