Addressing the Crisis of Civil Society Suppression

On September 17th, CAP Liberté de Conscience hosted a side event at the Human Rights Council on Arbitrary Detention in the UAE, featuring speakers Matthew Hedges, a British academic previously detained in the UAE for seven months, and Ahmed al-Nuaimi, charged in absentia in the UAE 94 trial. The event aimed to address the crisis of civil society suppression ahead of the Working Arbitrary Group session in Geneva.
