Vincent Georgie, executive director of the Windsor International Film Festival, credits the festival’s success to its unique business model, which has allowed it to grow into Canada’s largest volunteer-run film festival. With a budget of around $2 million, 60 events, and over 100 sponsorships and private donors, WIFF has become a staple in the community, drawing 50,000 attendees last year. Georgie emphasizes the importance of balancing artistic talent with business acumen in order to sustain long-term success in the film festival industry.
