McLaren CEO Zak Brown stated that the team would be “crazy” not to issue team orders if necessary to secure a Drivers’ Championship for either Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Norris leads Verstappen by 12 points and can clinch the title with a podium finish, while Piastri is four points behind Verstappen. Brown asserted that the team is realistic about the situation and will prioritize winning the championship. He expressed confidence that both drivers would comply with any team orders issued during the race.
