MEPs in the European Parliament praised the people of Moldova for rejecting Russian interference in their recent elections and expressing their desire to become an EU member state. The European Greens also commended the pro-European outcome of the constitutional referendum and denounced Russian attempts to destabilize the country. The EU High Representative recognized the successful organization of the elections and referendum, despite ongoing foreign interference, and welcomed the Moldovan people’s decision to anchor their future in the European Union.
