Beijing recently hosted the world’s first half-marathon for robots, where 21 bipedal bots participated alongside human runners, resulting in humorous mishaps like a robot falling at the start and another losing its head. The winner, Tiangong Ultra from X Humanoid, was one of only four robots to complete the 13-mile course, finishing in two hours and 40 minutes, significantly slower than the human winners. Teams could swap batteries and robots mid-race, with many participants humorously donning human running shoes.
