Neptune out as Villanova coach after 3 seasons

Villanova has fired men’s basketball coach Kyle Neptune after three seasons, with assistant coach Mike Nardi serving as interim head coach during the search for Neptune’s successor. Neptune, who replaced Jay Wright, failed to lead the team to an NCAA tournament appearance and struggled to maintain momentum, finishing with a 54-47 record. The Wildcats had not missed the NCAA tournament in three straight seasons since Wright’s early tenure from 2002 to 2004.
