The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Utah Hockey Club 4-3 with Mitch Marner scoring the deciding goal in a shootout. Marner’s goal ended the Leafs’ three-game winless streak. Auston Matthews also scored in the shootout, while Clayton Keller was the only Utah player to score. Marner, who recently reaffirmed his commitment to the Leafs, recorded his 80th point of the season in the game. The Leafs blew a 3-0 lead in the second period, allowing Utah to tie the game. William Nylander and Calle Jarnkrok scored power-play goals in the first period. The game marked the Leafs’ first visit to the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
