Rwanda has made strides in improving cancer services, governance, and professional training, as highlighted in a recent international assessment by the IAEA, WHO, and IARC. Despite progress, challenges persist in ensuring comprehensive cancer care access nationwide. The country is updating its National Cancer Control Plan and Accelerated Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy to address the growing concern of cancer, particularly driven by factors like the HPV virus. The imPACT review team commended Rwanda’s prevention efforts and recommended expanding radiotherapy services and investing in training to enhance cancer control initiatives.
