Authorities revealed that actor Gene Hackman died of heart disease with severe signs of Alzheimer’s disease a week after his wife, Arakawa, died of hantavirus in their home. Foul play was ruled out initially, with carbon monoxide poisoning tests coming back negative. Arakawa’s death was linked to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, while Hackman’s death was attributed to heart disease, with Alzheimer’s disease as a contributing factor.
