Border state lawmaker Rep. Monica De La Cruz is reintroducing the Pay Our Border Patrol and Customs Agents Act to ensure Border Patrol agents are paid in case of a government shutdown. The bill covers the salaries of CBP employees, including Border Patrol agents and the Office of Field Operations. With funding deadlines looming in Washington, D.C., the bill has bipartisan support and aims to prevent any impact on Border Patrol agents if a shutdown occurs.
