Larsen & Toubro, a leading engineering firm, has announced a one-day paid menstrual leave for its female employees at its headquarters, benefiting around 5,000 women. The decision aligns L&T with companies like Swiggy and Zomato and was made by Chairman S N Subrahmanyan during an International Women’s Day event. Despite recent controversial remarks by Subrahmanyan, including advocating for a 90-hour workweek, the move reflects the growing trend of menstrual leave policies in India, with states like Odisha and Karnataka also considering similar measures.
