A truck carrying four elephants from Addo Elephant National Park to Samara Karoo Reserve overturned on the Olifantskop Pass in the Eastern Cape, with no injuries reported. Two recovery vehicles were on-scene to assist, and the elephants were unharmed and en route to their destination with the Grahamstown SPCA ensuring their welfare. The NSPCA raised concerns about the elephants being donated to a private game reserve and highlighted welfare issues regarding their transport.
